Our Values

Action on Access has served leaders and practitioners in providers of higher education for over two decades to embed fair access and widening participation within institutional practice, strategies, missions and cultures.  We are committed to promoting inclusivity, diversity and the widest, broadest possible access and student success for everyone in higher education regardless of their background and personal identity.  We work with colleagues working in access and outreach; schools liaison; admissions; Widening Participation; student support and engagement; EDI; in teaching, administration or research in these areas; and those involved in marketing recruitment, planning and evaluation.

We believe in:

  • Combatting educational inequality; breaking down barriers to access; and promoting belonging, inclusion and social justice
  • Envisaging fair access; and building embedded inclusion, diversity and student success
  • Providing and sharing accessible, reliable, high-quality knowledge and information to better enable networking and partnership.

"A colleague and I were just talking about how useful we find your monthly eBulletin and I thought I should feed this back to you. It's such a valuable source of information and somehow seems to cover all of the key issues and current news in one place. I can only imagine how much time is spent researching and compiling this each month, so thank you."

Wendy Price, Head of Widening Access and Participation, University of Sunderland

“Many thanks, Andrew, for your continued support in advertising relevant vacancies but continuing to maintain a wealth of highly relevant news items and updates associated with widening access. Your website is a fantastic resource and we very much appreciate it.”

Jack Fox, Head of Student Recruitment and Widening Participation, Queen Mary University of London

"We want to say thank you for supporting the UK Social Mobility Awards 2022 - businesses like yours genuinely help make initiatives like this possible."
